About Family Historian's Family Trees

Hi,

You're here because you're curious about our family. We have a LOT of family!

***Finding a person: The names are set up Last name first. The thing is, many people (women, mostly) have 2 or three last names so they're hard to find when you're looking for Jones & she turned into a Smith. It's also tough when "Buddy" has a first name that's really John.

An example of this is my Aunt Lee. Last known name was "Lee Kelley". Her real name is Elise. Her FIRST last name was LeBrun. Then it was Wilson. Then it was Kelley. You'll find her under the last name of "LeBrun Wilson Kelley" and then the first name will be "Elise". "Harriet" is her middle name, so you'll find that in there too instead of just the initials. ***

I do this because the documents & things that I find could be under any combination. Also, doing it this way helps me distinguish the Elise LeBrun Wilson Kelley from the Elise Desjadons Lebrun & others with similar names. :)

Another example is my grandmother on my mother's side. She was born "Arthur", married "Tansey" and then married "Pattengall". You'll find her under maiden name: Arthur Tansey Pattangall, Mary E.

I'll be adding photos & documents as time permits. I have nearly 5,000 of them! It's a work in progress!

Feel free to email me: ljohnsontx at inbox.com if you have any photos or documents that you'd like to share. Scan them & send via email or send them to me via snail-mail, whatever works! I'll even send your things back to you if you want them back!

If you find any mistakes or have information or pictures that you'd like to share I'd love it if you'd let me know so I can add or fix.

Look around. Have fun. Thanks for being here.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
